By PNG Echo. On International Women’s Day yesterday the media were invited to a business women’s breakfast at the Gateway Hotel, Port Moresby. Their purpose was to promote publicly the achievements of these women. Do a little bragging on their behalf, if you like. Under the circumstances, you’d expect that they’d be welcomed and treated with the respect they deserve, wouldn’t you? Raising the status of women in Papua New Guinea

By PNG Echo. Was she joking? She said that she didn’t think political parties should be forced, by law, to drag women into parliament against their will. It conjures up pictures of cave men dragging women screaming by the hair into the Haus Tambaran à la Fred Flintstone.
