APEC: An international public relations disaster

By PNG Echo I’ve always thought of Prime Minister, Peter O’Neill, as Mr Teflon – nothing sticks. Indeed, he has withstood many a serious allegation of corruption/theft and emerged, relatively unscathed to, just recently, host the APEC summit meeting on behalf of Papua New Guinea. This APEC was to stand as the apex of his accomplishments as Prime Minister. National Chauvinism: Lest we forget.

National chauvinism is an aggressive patriotism that is often displayed when countries are at war.  Lately it is raising its ugly head – even in peace time. Writes PNG Echo Australia, yesterday, celebrated ANZAC Day and the battle on the peninsular of Gallipoli during the First World War where it is said Australia gained nationhood.
